Whip Street purchase Airglove machine for the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre at Ipswich Hospital
Posted on: December 16th 2019 • Posted in: Charity WorkWe’re delighted to have funded three new Airglove air warming machines for East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust’s (ESNEFT) oncology ward at Ipswich Hospital.
Used to help patients receiving chemotherapy, the Airglove comfortably and quickly warms the patient, to make cannulation easier and more comfortable. By warming the arm, veins are raised making it much more likely to cannulate first time.
The first department at ESNEFT to purchase this equipment, the staff are looking forward to using it on their patients.
This is not the first machine bought for the hospital by Whip Street Motors. Last year, our donation helped to buy a Versalite Meddrawer Infinity Workstation to enable staff to work freely around the department, with constant access to notes and information.
In 2017, we helped the unit to buy an observation machine with another donation.
Our owner, Charlie Baker said: “Christmas is a time of giving, and we’re proud that we’re able to give something back to our local communities and in particular Ipswich Hospital at this festive time.
The nurses said this machine will make a lot of difference to their patients and we’re delighted to have helped purchase them.”
